I Won!!! Go Me!!

Yesterday, on Katy Radion 101.3, I won on Trivia Impossible!! The question was, 14 million of these small divices have been sold, and 4.4 million have been sold from Januaray through March...I thought maybe an Ipod, or a cell phone....Kat and I started calling....she got through first...and said cell phone, the DJ told her she was almost there, what kind of cell phone, she said Iphone, he said no. I continued to call....he gave a hint....not an "apple product"....I finally got through and he asked me the question.....and I said it's a Blackberry....he said you are correct. Then I had a decision to make....$50 gift certificate to Rubys Diner or 4 tickets to the Long Beach Grand Prix....If my son didn't want to go to the Grand Prix so badly, I would have chosen the $50 gift certificate, but he had just told his dad that he thought it would be cool to go to the Grand Prix...and his dad said yes it would be cool, but that we couldn't afford it right now. So, I went with the 4 tickets to the Long Beach Grand Prix!! You're welcome Kyle!!!! The only downfall is the tickets are for Friday the 18th, so, he will have to miss a day of school. Gonna let him this time...good thing I just got his progress report, and he has brought his grades up. Oh, and by the way....I sounded like a dork on the radio!! I didn't know I was still being recorded when I had to make my decision on what prize I wanted...and I was just talking to the DJ...asking him stupid questions and telling him that my boss wanted me to get the $50 gift certificate and that my husband would like the Grand Prix tickets....and so on. Then when I heard myself on the radio a few minutes later, WHAT A DORK!!!! Oh well, live and learn!!

I made it through my first homestand

Well, I made it through my first homestand with the Lake Elsinore Storm. Started out very stressful but ended on a good note. Monday and Tuesday night were tough....it was very cold, and the information booth is in a wind tunnel so to speak, and I was FREEZING!! I would have to say that I was happy to answer phones last night. So now I am off from there until next Thursday, when we have another homestand. At least this one is not 7 days in a row!! We did not win last night, but it was a good game. We did win the series though, as we beat them 2 out 3 games. We were playing the Visilia Oaks team, which is the farm team for the Arizona Diamond Backs. Our first 4 games, which we split that series was played against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes...the farm team for the best team in the WORLD..The Anaheim Angels!!!! Our next homestand, which begins April 17th is against the Modesto Nuts.....the farm team for the Colorado Rockies. If you are looking for something to do, that doesn't cost a lot of money, come out to the Lake Elsinore Diamond and cheer on the Storm!! Lots of fun for all!!!

Storm Baseball

Okay...I started my part-time job on Thursday with Storm Baseball. Thursday was opening night, and the place was crazy. I was just thrown on the phones...really no training!! The phones rang nonstop for the first 2 hours I was there. All four lines...nonstop!! I was so stressed!! I was ready to quit!! The phones finally calmed down, but they did ring all throughout the game. The game started an hour late...so I was there until 10:30. I thought I would be really tired on Friday, but I wasn't. Friday night I was on the phones again...wasn't half as bad as Thursday night. This game went into extra innings. So I was there until 10:30 again. Saturday I just relaxed all day and went to work at 5:00. Worked the phones again...pretty slow. Game was over at about 10:00. Worked again on Sunday....had to be there at 12:00. I worked the info booth for the first time. That was fun, as I was able to see some of the game and talk to people. The only downfall with that is you have to stand for the whole game....my feet were killing me!! Oh well...guess I'll get used to it. I am working again tonight...info booth. Fun FUN Fun!!!!

Yes, I am alive!!!

Okay...what has happened this past month.....hmmmmm. Kyle turned 15...didn't do much. Went to my inlaws and they took him out to dinner and he had steak and lobster.....his favorite!! That was the weekend before his birthday. Then the weekend following his birthday, we went to my parents house and had corned beef. Kyle's cousins came over too so he had a good time...he and Chris played Super Smash Brothers Brawl on his Wii....so all was good!!! On Friday March 14th, Joan's birthday (a friend from work), Katrina, Joan and I had plans to go to dinner and go see The Alley Cats!! I couldn't wait for 4:00 to come. So I went out to my car to put something away around 3:45 and I have a flat tire...not good!! Call AAA and they said they would be there within 40 minutes. Scott gets home (Kat's hubby), he put air in my tire and I was just going to go to America's Tire and get it patched real quick. Katrina called and they said it was a 2 hour wait....sorry, we don't have that kind of time. Back to plan A....AAA came, put on my spare, told me not to travel over 100 miles on it and don't go over 65mph. Yea right!! I tried my best!! Anyway, everything was fixed(spare on), and we were ready to go by the time Joan met us at the office. We went to Red Robin for dinner and then to see The Alley Cats!! Oh, did I mention I needed gas....luckily we made it to The Welk Theatre and there was a gas station there....talk about LUCK!!! So, just wanted to say....We had a blast!! The Alley Cats were AWESOME!!! We can't wait to go again!!!! The next day, I worked for a few hours at The Storm, learning to answer the phone, as I start that job tomorrow night. I will be working there at every home game, switching off from answering phones to working in the information booth. Should be fun!! I love BASEBALL!! Speaking of Baseball...so excited that the Angels games have started. They lost their first game....but kicked butt in their second game. Not much else is new. Just NEEDED to blog.....now I'm done!!! Have a great day!!!! TTYL!!!!!
